![]() Below is my complaint to the BBC via the complaints page. Enjoy. MY FULL COMPLAINT:
Please read this, because I am about to pour out my soul to you. When I watched Toshiko and Owen pass away in Torchwood episode Exit Wounds I thought "How can there be any more Torchwood?" However, my favourite character was Ianto, so I saw a future for the show. I loved Children Of Earth, and followed it religiously. I also love Doctor Who too; you have no IDEA how much. But then when I heard the 456 say "A virus has been released. It will kill everyone inside" my heart sank. I was saying over and over and over again under my breath "Not Ianto, please not Ianto". I was in tears all night. He was, and always will be, a lovable, relatable character. He represents a secret part of all of us, struggling to find meaning to our lives, and not to mention he had the best one liners and quips ever, including the brilliantly acted and written phone snark (this is my ringtone), as well as other uncountable witty and funny phrases. I am asking the BBC, the writers, the casters, and even the extremely talented Gareth David-Lloyd himself to bring back this unique and beautiful character to the screen in the fourth series of Torchwood. He is sorely missed; all you have to do is look at the many web pages dedicated to him and his memory, and the possibility of him being revived. As to how to bring him back, there are so many possible ways, as it is a sci-fi show, therefore anything is possible, for example the return of Rose in the series 4 finale of Doctor Who, which was said to be impossible. (See http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5250081/1/Permanence for a vague idea of how to bring him back. I think that one works very well, but maybe The Doctor isn't really needed.) Please do not ignore this, or pass it off like http://blogs.coventrytelegraph.net/thegeekfiles/2009/07/should-ianto-be-revived-fans-a.html Russell T Davies did in this interview (with which I am very upset about, but that is a separate matter, sorry) I apologise for my 'complaint' being so long, but I really meant with all my heart every single word I said above. Yours faithfully, Zoe Badder PS: One of your brilliant promotional pictures of Ianto is my computer wallpaper, and I say "Hello" to him every time I switch it on, just to keep his memory alive until he is rightfully resurrected. |
![]() Ok, so after watching Torchwood: Children of Earth: Day Four, and spending hours scouring the web, printing posters, writing to the BBC and sending coffee, I am setting this up, as a way to track, remember and campaign. 1) We want Ianto Jones back, because without, RTD, there is no show. And you can't say dead is dead, what about Rose, Pete Tyler, Jack, and Owen? 2) If you sent anything to the BBC, via web or post, or recieved something from them about this, then please post it on here. 3) Post links to Youtube videos that are good for remebering Ianto, or any other web related thing for that matter. Thank you! ![]() Here is the reply I got. I must have done something right! Thanks
